Help with CSS Bug in Internet Explorer for Magento Store by SEjack

This widget on my website's homepage uses Javascript to vary the CSS opacity of an image. Really cool looking, but it doesn't work right on IE 7, 8 or even 9. The job is to find a workaround to this problem and make the necessary changes... (Budget: $30-$250 USD, Jobs: CSS, Javascript, Magento)
